Stellar Civic Review welcomes considered pitches about civic symbols, public ceremonies, civic language, memory and belonging. Send proposals through the Contact page; a pitch is not a guarantee of publication.

What we welcome

We consider clear, original explanations and essays that help general readers understand a specific civic custom, phrase, symbol or act of remembrance. A strong contribution makes room for context and for meanings that may differ across audiences.

What to include

Name the subject, state the question the piece will answer and explain why it suits the Review. Include a brief outline, the kind of sources the article would rely on and any relevant conflicts of interest. Keep the proposal focused on one main idea.

Before you send

Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Please do not submit a finished piece unless requested. We cannot promise a response time or publication, and we do not accept material that relies on invented evidence or unattributed work.
